WELDING METHOD FOR TWO OPAQUE POLYMER MATERIALS STABLE AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of welding opaque members on a boundary surface between two members without changing a material property of the members.

SOLUTION: The welding method comprises a step for preparing a lower member 2 made of an opaque polymer stable at a high temperature made by added with a carbon powder capable of an extent to be absorbing a laser light and an upper member 4 made of a high temperature stable polymer material, and a step for laser welding the lower member 2 and the upper member 4 by making a laser light 1 pass through the upper member 4 and a step for sending the laser light to a boundary face between the upper member 4 and a lower member 2. The upper member 4 is made to be transparent to the laser light and without changing the essential properties of the material and is made to be opaque for a visible ray but transparent to a laser ray by adding a mineral or organic pigment being stable at a high temperature to the polymer material.
