PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide detergent particles excellent in solubility and excellent in storage stability such as caking resistance and resistance for oozing a surfactant and the like, and to provide a detergent composition containing the detergent particles. SOLUTION: [1] The detergent particles prepared by coating 100 pts.mass of base detergent particles (a) with 10 to 50 pts.mass of a surface-modifying agent comprising a laminar clay mineral (b) and zeolite (c), wherein the mass ratio of [laminar clay mineral (b)/zeolite (c)] is 0.1 to 0.6, and [2] a detergent composition containing the same are provided.
