PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharging head variation in discharge output of which is little even when the number of nozzles for discharging droplets varies, and to provide a head unit, a liquid droplet discharging apparatus and a method for driving a liquid droplet discharging head. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet discharging head 12 is formed by arranging a plurality of liquid droplet discharging elements 36 for discharging liquid droplets 34 from nozzles 14. The liquid droplet discharging element 36 comprises a cavity 30 which communicates with the nozzle 14 and fills the nozzle 14 with functional liquid 31, a piezoelectric element 33 for changing the volume of the cavity 30, and a simulated load 35 having an impedance substantially equal to that of the piezoelectric element 33. When a liquid droplet 34 is discharged, a piezoelectric element 33 in a liquid droplet discharging element 36 for discharging the liquid droplet 34 changes the volume of the cavity 30 to discharge a part of the functional liquid 31 from the nozzle 14 as the liquid droplet 34, and the simulated load 35 is driven in a liquid droplet discharging element 36 which does not discharge the liquid droplet 34.
