The operating unit for a friction clutch has a master cylinder (1) or hydraulic valve to create pressure on receipt of a signal and a slave cylinder (5) to create a clutch or declutch force. There is a power- or pressure-dependent element (7) in the hydraulic transmission path to alter the transmission ratio between master cylinder or valve and slave cylinder.
