<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake that can secure the support force of a shim and a cover shim, even when the shim and the cover shim are provided on a brake pad having a short length in the circumferential direction of a disk. <P>SOLUTION: This disk brake includes brake pads 22 arranged at both sides in the axial direction of a disk and the shim 41 and the cover shim 42 locked on the brake pad 22 by support pieces 55, 56, 65, 66 to cover the opposite side to the disk of the brake pad 22. The shim 41 is provided with each of the support pieces 55, 56 at the inside and outside in the radial direction of the disk.
