PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shared optical and electrical plug which can fit into a standard jack by increasing the number of electrodes while maintaining high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The shared optical and electrical plug 1 includes: a head electrode 3 of excellent conductivity with a through-hole 3<SB>1</SB>inside; a stay tube 4 which has outer and inner diameters and a length allowing the stay tube to be inserted into a through-hole 3<SB>1</SB>; trunk electrodes 5-7 which have an end having a ring contact and has inner and outer diameters and a length allowing the stay tube to be inserted; and an optical fiber OF which is inserted into the stay tube 4, wherein the end of the stay tube 4 is inserted into the through-hole 3<SB>1</SB>and fixed therein; the stay tube 4 with the head electrode 3 fixed is equipped with the trunk electrodes 5-7 to place gaps g<SB>1</SB>and g<SB>2</SB>between the head electrode 3 and ring contacts 5A-7A and between the stay tube 4 and the insides of the trunk electrode tubes 5-7, respectively and an insulating material 8 is disposed between the gaps g<SB>1</SB>and g<SB>2</SB>; the optical fiber OF is inserted into the stay tube 4 and its tip is located and fixed at the tip of the head electrode 3.
