The invention relates to compounds of formula (1) in which is a C2- to C4-alkylene group; x is from 1 to 100; R' is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic radical which contains at least one structural unit of the formula 2, and y is from 1 to 100. The invention also relates to the use of these compounds in quantities of 0.01 to 2% by weight for preventing the formation of gas hydrates in aqueous phases that are connected to a gaseous, liquid or solid organic phase.
