PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature controller for a machine tool capable of attaining more effective temperature control of the machine tool covered with a cover. SOLUTION: In the temperature controller 1 for the machine tool 2 covered with the cover 12, a heat exchanger 20 is mounted on an outer-peripheral surface of the cover 12 and a room temperature sensor 21 is attached inside the cover 12. Further, there is provided a temperature control portion for performing temperature control of the heat exchanger 20 to bring a room temperature detected by the room temperature sensor 21 near a target temperature. Hence, heating and cooling of the cover 12 are performed by the heat exchanger 20 and the temperature control of air in the cover 12 is performed through the whole inner side surface of the cover 12.
