<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a startup time, and to suppress useless electricity consumption without increasing cost by preventing a fluorescent lamp from being lit off while there is a document or a document cover is opened in a warmup sequence of the fluorescent lamp. <P>SOLUTION: A part of a document white pressing plate sheet is formed black to detect the opening/closing of a document cover and the presence/absence of a document. Furthermore, while there is no document and the document cover is closed, as a result, it is determined that an image forming apparatus is not used for a while, and a fluorescent lamp is lit off. When the presence is detected, it is determined that it may be possible to use the image forming apparatus later, and the fluorescent lamp is kept to be lit on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
