<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus furnished with a function to precisely grasp contact failure of a contact of a relay. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power steering apparatus obtains bounce time by reading a change of contact voltage (voltage on the load side of the contact) by a control part in accordance with knowledge that the bounce time when the contact is operated becomes longer than that at normal time if the contact failure occurs at the contact of the relay due to existence of a foreign matter, determines that the contact is normal if the bounce time does not exceed a prescribed value (S9) by comparison, or determines that the contact is abnormal if the bounce time exceeds the prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
