PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety in a file system by minimally protecting the file system even when photographing is performed in any state. SOLUTION: Management information when image data is actually stored in a second storage means based on image data stored in a first storage means is updated. The updated management information is written in a file managing area, so that data equivalent to the final FAT data is recorded before writing the image data. Then a storage capacity for writing the image data is correctly determined, and the file system is minimally protected even when a user accidentally removes a storage medium, or disconnects a power source and photographed image data is prevented from being access impossible, and also the storage capacity for writing the image data is prevented from being uselessly secured on the large side by prediction.
