The invention relates to a method for the immobilization of an analyte on a solid support wherein the analyte is covalently attached to a biotin molecule to obtain a biotinylated analyte and wherein the biotinylated analyte is subsequently contacted with a high affinity binding member to form an analyte complex where after the analyte complex is contacted with the solid support.
