PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic painting method and an apparatus therefor, which reduce cost and allows efficient operation. SOLUTION: When supplying the conductive paint charged to the paint chamber 84 in the paint cartridge 19 to a coating gun 14, a liquid is supplied to a reservoir unit 13 from a paint feeding unit and reserved. Then, the liquid in the reservoir unit 13 is supplied to a fluid chamber 83 separated from the paint chamber 84 by the free piston 82 within the paint cartridge 19 via a fluid circuit 10A, and the free piston 82 is pressed to the side of the paint chamber 84 and to supply the conductive paint in the paint chamber 84 to the coating gun 14 by the transfer of the free piston 82.
