The device (8) has a storage space delimited by a housing device and a delimiting device i.e. piston, and connected to a hydraulic system. A space delimited by the delimiting and housing devices adjoins the storage space on a side of the delimiting device, where the side is turned away from the storage space. The space is connected with an internal space by a conducting section. An opening cross-section of the section is arranged in a transmission device (3) e.g. automated transmission, above a level of hydraulic fluid i.e. oil, volume in an installed condition of the device. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for storing hydraulic fluid of a hydraulic system of a transmission device.
