PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear reduction device of a railroad wheel capable of correctly reducing the wear of a flange part of the railroad wheel by fitting a solid lubricant to a wheel tread friction piece which is separately equipped on a truck of a railroad vehicle, and applying the solid lubricant to the flange part of the railroad wheel by using a pressing mechanism of the wheel tread friction piece. SOLUTION: In the wear reduction device of the railroad wheel, a solid lubricant 12 is arranged at a part which is one side surface of a wheel tread friction piece 4 to be applied to the railroad wheel 1 and brought into contact with a flange part 3 of the railroad wheel 1 by joining the solid lubricant 12 with the side surface.
