PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit which can reduce resonant energy that arises while it switches on a switching element, and also can reduce its temperature by improving its power efficiency. SOLUTION: In this power unit 10, which is equipped with the switching element 12, which generates AC voltage by being switched on or switched off, and a transformer 20, where primary winding 21 connected to the switching element 12, secondary winding 22 coupled with this primary winding 21 by mutual inductance, and regenerative winding 23, which generates resonant energy generated by leakage inductance and distributed capacitance of the secondary winding 22, are wound around the peripheral face of a core 24, the primary winding 21, the secondary winding 22, and the regenerative winding 23 are wound so that they may be loose coupling with one another, and the regenerative winding 23 regenerates resonant energy when the switching element 12 is switched on.
