PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent endoscope device that, with one observation, can acquire at least two types of information characterizing a lesion, and process the information into an image useful for diagnosis so as to diagnose with high accuracy a lesion, even a lesion which has little structural change from that of normal living tissue, such as early cancer etc., and an imaging unit used therefor. SOLUTION: The fluorescent endoscope device comprises a light source unit 3 that creates multiple excitation lights; an illumination unit 2; and an imaging unit 1 to pick up fluorescent images of a living organism, and an image processing unit 5 to construct image based on the image signals acquired by the imaging unit 1. When the number of excitation lights created by the light source unit 3 is defined as n and the number of fluorescent images having different wavelength bands that are detected by the imaging unit 1 as m<SB>T</SB>. following equation n<m<SB>T</SB><3n is satisfied, and the imaging unit 1 includes an objective optical system 33, an image pickup element 36, and an etalon 35.
