Device, system and method of rapid image acquisition (fig. 1), including an imager (120) able to acquire one or more images, a light detector (140) to detect light level in response to a triggering event, a light level corresaponding to at least a portion of a field of view of the imager (120), a controller to determine based on the detected light level one or more configuration values of the imager to transfer the determined configurational values to the imager (120) and command the imager (120) to rapidly acquire one or more images utilizing the determined configuration values.
