PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability of two or more multifunctional buttons out of a plurality of buttons. SOLUTION: This operation element device is provided with a determination part 12 determining each signal from a plurality of buttons 21-37 for operating an apparatus 50 to transmit it to the apparatus side; multifunctional buttons 24 and 25 cyclically instructing the changeover of a plurality of control functions every time one of the plurality of buttons is depressed are grouped; and the determination part 12 stores each first signal out of a plurality of signals instructing the changeover of the plurality of control functions to the respective multifunctional buttons in an RAM 12b as an initial value, thereafter tentatively stores, in the RAM, each signal directing the changeover of the control functions generated with a depressing operation of each multifunctional button when the multifunctional buttons are alternately depressed, and transmits, to the apparatus side, each signal of the alternately-operated multifunctional buttons previously stored in the RAM when the alternately-operated multifunctional buttons are respectively operated again only once.
