摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently suppress an increase in the temperature of an insertion part by suppressing leakage of a liquid. SOLUTION: In the cooling device 7 for an endoscope, a porous ceramic 18 is disposed between the insertion part 2 of the endoscope and the heat resistant sheath 8 disposed on its leading end side outer periphery. Porous capillaries in the ceramic 18 move cooling water by means of capillarity and holds the cooling water in them. The base end face of the ceramic 18 is disposed in contact with a cooling water storage section 16, and moves the cooling water to the front of the ceramic 18 from the cooling water storage section 16 by means of capillarity. A CCD 13 and so on are accommodated in the area of the tip region of the insertion part 2. Openings 18a and 18b for discharging vapor produced as the result of vaporization of the cooling water in the porous capillaries of the ceramic 18, are formed in an region overlapping the CCD 13 of the heat resistant sheath 8.
