PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire, which can improve a steering stability at a high-speed run, a high-speed durability and a road noise property, while making effective use of the characteristics of polyketone fiber cords applied as belt reinforcing cords, even if it is flattened/enlarged tire. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire comprises a carcass ply 4 composed of cord layers arrayed substantially in radial directions, belts 5 arranged sequentially on the outer side of the tread portion of the carcass ply 4 in the radial direction, and a belt-reinforcing layer 6. The cords of the belt-reinforcing layer 6 are single-twisted to contain at least 90 mass% by mass of polyketone fibers having a yarn elastic modulus of 200 cN/dtex or higher, a maximum thermal shrinkage stress of 15 N/yarn or less as dipped cords, and a thermal shrinkage of 0.6% or more and less than 2% at a dry heat treatment of 177°C×30 minutes.
