The invention relates to a method and a device, designed for carrying out the method, for monitoring the reception characteristics of a TV signal, where radio-frequency signals are received via at least one antenna, where the invention provides for a reception unit having n reception paths to convert the received RF signals into video data and at the same time to evaluate information about the quality of the received video signal and to send this information to a host controller, and where the host controller uses a mathematical unit to evaluate the information from the broadcaster landscape and to signal particular events to the host controller, and the latter decides whether or not the reception unit changes to another channel in order to obtain better reception thereon. |
