A tidal energy converter uses large floats F within docks D which are connected to the sea, to generate power without being exposed to storms. The floats drive hydraulic rams, and may contain water as ballast. The ballast may be expelled by air under pressure. Alternatively, the device may be provided with water from a river (figure 1(a)). |
