The present invention describes a system for thermo-engraving images in relief on polymeric films, which consists of: a couple of identical metallic moulds including an image or any other information 1 in relief; a couple of smooth sheets 4, which thickness is twice as that of the moulds and the area a little lower than that of the moulds; four screw presses 5, and a heat source. The present invention also refers to a process for thermo-engraving images in relief on polymeric films, which consist of: pressing, between the two moulds of the system, a piece of polymeric film 3 which has a surface equal to or higher than that of the moulds; fastening the polymeric film by pressing the moulds with a metallic smooth sheet 4, thus forming a type of sandwich; pressing the sandwich formed in the previous stage with a screw press 5 located at each corner of the sandwich; and heating for about 1 s to about 10 s at 70°C+, -20% with a uniform movement both surfaces of the sandwich using a heat so urce in order to perform the thermo-engrave of the image or information 1 on the film 3. Finally, the polymeric film is also included as a result of the previously mentioned system and method.
