PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly preheat a vulcanizing mold 35, which is simple in structure and inexpensive and into which an unvulcanized tire is going to be carried, to the vicinity of a temperature suitable for vulcanization. SOLUTION: Since the vulcanizing mold 35 is preheated by supplying a heating fluid to upper and lower hot plates 20 and 13 until just before the unvulcanized tire is carried into the vulcanizing mold 35, when the preheating is finished, in other words, only some time has passed from just before the unvulcanized tire is carried into the vulcanizing mold 35 until the vulcanization is started, and almost no heat radiation from the vulcanizing mold 35 is admitted. Therefore, when the vulcanization is started, the entire vulcanization mold 35 is held approximately uniformly at a temperature close to the temperature suitable for the vulcanization.
