<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of appropriately detecting the lifetime of a toner supply device 30 and exerting control of it, by storing the number of rotations of a toner storage bottle 31 itself in a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The toner supply device 30 includes: the toner storage bottle 31 for storing toner; and a support holder 32 for holding the toner storage bottle 31 so that it is rotatable around its axis. A magnetic member 45 is disposed on part of the outer peripheral face of the toner storage bottle 31. The support holder 32 has: a lead switch 70 that detects each passage of the magnetic member 45 near it from the supply of power; and a one-time memory IC that stores the number of passages of the magnetic members 45 by adding signals from the lead switch. A rotation control section 90 captures the number of rotations of the toner storage bottle 31 via a connector 75.
