<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an imaging unit capable of keeping properly the distance between a photosensitive drum and a developing roller with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming apparatus, mutually opposing roller applying face 401 and inclined face 402 are formed on a roller receiver 202. The distance between the roller applying face 401 and the inclined face 402 is gradually reduced when approaching the innermost part from an inlet of the roller receiver 202. The roller applying face 401 is a part of a cylindrical face using the photosensitive drum 201 and a rotary shaft as central axis. The inclined face 402 is formed to become lower and lower when approaching the innermost part from the inlet of the roller receiver 202 when forming images. A roller 211 receives the force for moving the roller 211 to the innermost part from the inlet of the roller receiver 202 on the inclined face 402 by its gravity.
