<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successfully forecast print demand for a large scale print shop for receiving an order for a print job with a high variability level. <P>SOLUTION: A DCT (data collection tool) 18 collects print demand indication data about a plurality of print jobs processed by a document print production center, for example, the output device 16 of 10-1 within a prescribed period, mass memory 20 store the data for some time, and a service manager 24 processes the data on the memory 20 to forecast demand. In data processing, first and second demand time series are derived from the print demand indication data on the memory 20, a plurality of demand components with a low variability level included in the first demand time series are pooled, or the like to derive a first demand related forecast and demand components with a high variability level (whose result is liable to converge among them) included in the second demand time series are processed one by one to derive second demand related forecast, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
