PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pumping loss by smoothing flow of air between cylinders in a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine and inhibit violent movement of oil in an oil pan. SOLUTION: A baffle plate 10 is provided at an upper part of an oil pan 14 of the multiple cylinder internal combustion engine 12. The baffle plate 10 includes communication concave parts 40a-40d bent in a convex shape toward a lower part at an axial direction part of the cylinder 22 which goes over the adjacent cylinder 22 in a plurality of cylinders 22 arranged in series. A communication hole 42 establishing communication between the inside of a crank chamber 18 and the inside of the oil pan 14 is provided at each bottom part of the communication concave parts 40a-40d.
