The device has a mold-chamber (25) for receiving a powder, where the chamber is partially limited by a side of a mold-chamber-wall (26). A feeding device (1) is provided for feeding the powder into the mold-chamber. A compression unit (2) is provided for compressing the powder into the mold-chamber. The mold-chamber-wall consists of non-metallic material in a region of a side facing the mold-chamber. The mold-chamber is locked by a plunger (36), which consists of non-metallic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a shaped product from powder.
