An RPAS(Rear Parking Aids System) warning system and method are provided to use a built-in BCM(Body Control Module) buzzer in common without an RPAS buzzer for rear warning, thereby reducing the production cost and improving workability. An RPAS warning system comprises: an RPAS sensor(10) which is mounted on the back of a vehicle and senses the proximity of an obstacle; an RPAS controller(20) which receives the sensing signal form the RPAS sensor, compares with the set condition, and outputs warning signal; a gearshift R switch(40) which is mounted on a transmission and outputs ON signal when a gearshift is positioned in R; and a BCM(30) which outputs an alarm of RPAS warning frequency through a built-in buzzer when the RPAS warning signal is inputted from the RPAS controller.
