SPATIAL USER INTERFACE APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF

A spatial UI(User Interface) apparatus and a method thereof are provided to expand an UI to the real space to which a user belongs without being limited on the screen of a user terminal, thereby conveniently using the terminal. A user terminal comprises a spatial UI(202), a graphical UI(204) and an interface mapping unit(206). The spatial UI has icon information on the real space. The graphical UI has graphical icon information corresponding to the real-space icon information. The interface mapping unit maps the spatial UI and graphical UI. A space input device(11) comprises a location sensor(112), an earth magnetism sensor(114) and an acceleration sensor(116). The location sensor detects the location of the space input unit. The earth magnetism sensor senses the direction which the space input unit indicates. The acceleration sensor senses the movement of the space input unit.
