METHOD OF CONTROLLING TIME RELATED CONSTRAINTS IN MEMORY CARD WITH SECURITY FUNCTION

A method for managing a time related usage right in a memory card is provided to obtain the expandability of a device by designing a protocol controlling the time related restriction. A host application forms an RO manager and a channel in order to reproduce contents(S110). The host application grasps the RO state through the channel. The host application recognizes the RO state as the time-count and requests the reproduction about the contents(S120). The RO manager checks the content usage authority(S135). In case the content usage authority is effective, the contents are decoded(S145). The decoded content is transmitted to the host application(S150). If the predetermined time elapses according to the time-count information in the host application, the count down message is transmitted to the RO manager(S155, S160).
