PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost required for repair by protecting an exhaust gas sensor disposed at the front of an engine room when a vehicle is brought into contact with the other member. SOLUTION: In this protective structure of an exhaust gas sensor, a radiator is disposed on the vehicle front side of a center brace connecting a lower member and an upper member at the front of the engine room, an engine and a transmission are so disposed in the engine room that an output shaft extends in the lateral direction of the vehicle, a catalytic converter connected to the engine through an upstream side exhaust pipe is so disposed at the diagonal rear side of the center brace that an exhaust passage extends in the vertical direction of the vehicle, and the exhaust gas sensor is disposed in the upstream side exhaust pipe. The exhaust gas sensor projects in the lateral direction of the vehicle apart from the center brace. The radiator is so tilted relative to the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle that the one end of both ends of the radiator in the lateral direction of the vehicle which is adjacent to the exhaust gas sensor is positioned on the vehicle front side more than the other end.
