The method involves driving smooth plane separation rollers of a separation roller (1) for separation. An alternate current-motor (6) is connected directly to the smooth plane separation rollers during processing of the fiber web in a fiber web machine (10) in a separation roller. A derive frequency and a drive transformation for the AC-motors are determined.
