The device (1) has a housing with analysis and recording components closed by a closure head, and a temperature-sensor for recording temperature of surroundings of the device. A data processing unit (4) is assigned to a non-volatile storage device (5), and stores repeated data e.g. temperature, measured data and/or a program, in the storage device. A manipulation-detection device (6) detects opening of the housing, and is designed with a switch, which is operated during removal of the head. An interface device (7) e.g. infra-red-connection device, is designed with a remote-enquiry device. An independent claim is also included for a method for detection of exceeding of limit values of indoor temperature in an area by collection of temperature and humidity.
