The invention relates to high voltage and high power transformers with a lighting-protection screen. A lighting-protection screen designed in the form of in series connected capacitance turns, which are made from insulated plates, is connected to the line end of the winding of a high-voltage transformer, the voltage of which ranges from 400 to 1200 kV. The winding turns are interconnected by folding a plate in the middle in such a way that one half thereof is located in the previous winding turn and the other half is located in the next winding turn. The winding of the high voltage transformer is produced by means of continuous coiling without soldering and with small-sized insulation on a wire and between coils.
