FIELD: mining, geology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to underground development of mineral deposits, particularly of coal beds. Method of forecast consists in assessment of gas contents in a deposit and in a mine working, of type and characteristics of adjacent beds, and of presence and dimensions of outburst hazardous sections; the method also consists in automated monitoring for gas contamination in mine workings. Also there are traced presence and changes of concentration of gas, dissolved in water flowing into a mine working from adjacent structures. The method of location of gas traps includes evaluation of type and properties of adjacent rock, and of presence and dimensions of outburst hazardous sections.
