PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic strengthening unit capable of effectively suppressing the occurrence of shear buckling while securing the reduced weight of the unit by forming the unit of FRP and improving the structure of the unit, and also provide a seismic strengthening structure using the seismic strengthening unit. SOLUTION: This unit for seismic strengthening a building assembled with and stacked on the building comprises a core member and an FRP skin member installed on at least one surface of the core member. The FRP skin member is assembled with and stacked on the building parallel to the vertical plane thereof. The seismic strengthening structure using the unit can also be provided.
