PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably keep the adjusted position of an imaging means which images scanning light, and to thereby improve the image quality of an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A cover member 19 and an optical box 29 are fixed mainly with a first screw fixing part 50a. At a second screw fixing part 50b, a projected part 52 projecting from the optical box 29 is provided, a screw hole 53 is provided on the optical box 29 coaxially with the projected part 52 and a screw 40 is fastened to the optical box 29. The lower face 43 of the screw head of the screw 40 is contact with the upper face of the projected part 52, and a gap A is formed between the lower face 43 of the screw head of the screw 40 and the upper face of the cover member 19.
