The rotary knob (1) has an inner carrier part (2), which runs from a base of the rotary knob to a front side of the rotary knob. An outer lining element (3,4) has an open tubular shape, and covers a portion of a lateral surface (24) of the inner carrier part. A surface structure is fixed in a portion of an outer wall of the lining element. A fastening device (32) is provided on an inner side of the lining element for fastening to the carrier part.
