A pants-type wearing article (1) includes front and rear waist regions (6, 7) connected to each other by fastener means (14) in a detachable and refastenable manner. Each of the fastener means (14) comprises a sheet-like supporting element (20) adapted to be folded in a Z-shape or an inverted Z-shape as the front and rear waist regions (6, 7) are put flat together and a fastener element (21). The supporting element (20) has a top section (61), a bottom section (62) and an intermediate section (63) connecting the top and bottom sections (61, 62). Between opposed surfaces of the bottom section (62) and the intermediate section (63), a sheet-like liner section (43) is provided so as to extend from a bottom section's openable end (69) of the bottom section (62) along these opposed surfaces toward a top section's joint end (66). The top section (61) is bonded to the intermediate section (63) by a first bonding zone (51) while the liner section (43) is bonded to the bottom section (62) and the intermediate section (63) by a second bonding zone (52). In the supporting element (20), the first bonding zone (51) and the second bonding zone (52) overlap each other in a height direction of the Z-shape with interposition of the intermediate section (63).
