antiperspirant compositions comprise an antiperspirant active and a carrier oil in which the carrier oil comprises an aromatic ester oil obeying the general formula: <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>R1-CO2-X-Y-R2 <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> in which R1 and R2 each represent a phenyl group, X represents an alkylene group containing from 2 to 4 carbons including at least one pendant alkyl group and Y represents a bond, or an ether or ester linkage.
