A method of manufacturing a transflective liquid crystal display device is provided to increase a surface flatting degree in an upper display plate, thereby making liquid particles to move stably. A polarizing plate(10a) is positioned in the lowest part of an upper display plate. An upper insulating substrate(20a) is positioned on the polarizing plate of the upper display plate. A light shielding member(80) is positioned on the upper insulating substrate. An alignment film(50a) is positioned on a color filter. Liquid crystal positioned on the alignment layer is inserted into the liquid crystal layer(70).
