The valve (30) has a body (32) comprising three openings (36, 38, 40), and a rotating unit driven by an electrical motor. The rotating unit is moved inside the body for controlling passage of air through the openings with a defined law based on an angular position of the rotating unit in the body. The rotating unit has a valve core comprising upper and lower walls connected by an edge wall. The upper and lower walls are extended along a plane parallel to a base wall (44) of the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an engine.
