PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve compactification and to improve workability of focusing by incorporating a driving mechanism for focusing in a lens barrel. SOLUTION: The lens apparatus includes: concentrically providing the inside of the lens barrel 10 with a fixed lens holder 17; fitting a lens holder 21 for focusing for holding a focusing lens 23 freely slidably in an axial central direction into the fixed lens holder, and fitting freely rotatably a focusing operation barrel 22 in the axial central direction onto the fixed lens holder; making the lens holder for focusing displaceable in the axial central direction via a pin 24 installed upright on the lens holder for focusing by the rotation of the focusing operation barrel; disposing a focusing motor between the lens barrel and the fixed lens holder, and freely rotatably disposing rotation transmission gears 34, 35; intermeshing the rotation transmission gears with the focusing operation barrel; intermeshing the driving gears disposed on the output shaft for the focusing motor with the rotation transmission gears; and rotating the focusing operation barrel via the rotation transmission gears by the drive of the focusing motor, so that the focusing lens can be displaced in the axial central direction.
