<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic actuator for stably obtaining a superior drive performance without complicating an apparatus and increasing a cost, and a magnetic recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic actuator has a triangular vibrating object provided with a piezoelectric displacement section to be expanded and contracted by a drive signal, and moving objects contacting three peaks of the vibrating object by an applied pressure and moving relatively to the vibrating object. The vibrating object is expanded, contracted and deformed by expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric displacement section in a stretching vibration mode in which one peak is reciprocated in the direction along a line for connecting the peak and the gravity center of the vibrating object. The vibrating object is bent and deformed by expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric displacement section in a flexing vibration mode in which one peak is reciprocated in the direction vertical to the direction of reciprocation movement in the stretching vibration mode. The stretching vibration mode and the flexing vibration mode are excited by resonance in the moving objects. Since three peaks of the vibrating object elliptically vibrates in the same rotating direction, movement is generated relatively to the vibrating object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
