Provided is a multifunctional folding umbrella, which can be used not only for a single purpose of the folding umbrella as a rain gear but also for a tripod for the camera photography. The multifunctional folding umbrella (1) comprises three ribs (10) hinged to expand on the vicinities of the exposed ends (8a) of such ones of spreaders (8) as are spaced by about 120 degrees, three rib stays (11) removably attached to the remaining spreaders (8) having no hinged rib (10), and a camera mounting portion (12d) formed at the grip (12) of a body shank (4) for mounting a camera (13) or a universal head removably. The rib stays (11) removed from the spreaders (8) are interposed between the free ends of the ribs (10) to be expanded on the exposed ends (8a) of the spreaders (8) and a ferrule (3), so that the folding umbrella (1) can be used as the tripod for the camera. |
