PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery holder capable of increasing the number of photographed images by preventing wasteful consumption of power supply. SOLUTION: The battery holder comprises switches 87 and 88 for bypassing reverse current preventing diodes 83 and 84, the switches 87 and 88 being changed in switching state according to whether batteries are installed in battery chambers 110a and 110b or not. When two batteries are installed, the switches 87 and 88 are OFF, and the diodes 83 and 84 are operated as diodes to prevent reverse current. When only one battery is installed, either one of the switches 87 and 88 is ON, and power is supplied through the switches 87 and 88 while bypassing the diodes 83 and 84, and no voltage drop is thus caused through the diodes 83 and 84.
