The arrangement has a switching element (5) activated by a start button (6) for limited time period. The switching element holds a power relay (4) bridging an ignition switch (2) in a connected condition. A battery voltage (1) is fed over the ignition switch into a supply line (3). The switching element is formed by a switch relay (7) and a delay element (8). A working contact of the delay element is provided upstream to an excitation winding of the switch relay. The delay element is formed by a time relay. The switch relay is connected with the supply line by the contact of the switch relay.
